Svensk Naturförvaltning AB is looking for individuals interested in working with forest inventory.

In preparation for the field season 2025, we are seeking staff primarily for forest assessment, which involves counting and measuring trees in sample plots and recording other characteristics necessary to describe the state of the forest and its future development. We are also looking for personnel for the inventory of wildlife browsing damage in young forests (Äbin) and the inventory of forest plantations.

The inventory season runs from April to October and the work is conducted throughout the country. There may be opportunities to work on individual or multiple assignments during all or part of the season. Depending on the volume of assignments in other parts of the company's operations, there may also be other tasks and extensions of the work period.

We are looking for field staff with post-secondary education as a forest engineer, forest master, or biologist and/or experience in the tasks covered by the position. Field experience and familiarity with similar tasks are advantageous. We also place great value on personal qualities. You should have a good understanding of forest ecology and management, as well as basic knowledge of sampling methodology. In addition, the following is required:

  • technical competence to use the technical tools we employ, such as handheld devices for navigation and storage of inventory data
  • valid driver's license (B)
  • good physical condition and experience moving in terrain
  • stamina and the ability to work outdoors all day regardless of weather
  • ability to independently conduct field inventories
  • availability to work and live in other locations for extended periods

The work is usually performed as solo work where you control your workdays, but you are part of a team that collectively plans the execution.

Svensk Naturförvaltning annually conducts assignments that include field inventory of flora and fauna, forest assessment, nature value inventory, etc. During the ongoing season, new assignments are procured and ordered, which may involve reallocating existing staff and recruiting new inventory personnel for shorter or longer periods. Assignments are carried out throughout the country, so as an inventory worker, you should be prepared for a mobile lifestyle between Skåne and Norrbotten.

We have high demands for the work to be carried out safely for our staff, conducted with high quality, and we want our employees to enjoy their work.

In addition to hourly wages, allowances, mileage compensation if using your own car, and compensation for home travel are provided. The employer covers accommodation when working in another location. If you have a VAT registration, you can choose to work as a contracted subcontractor.

We interview and recruit staff on an ongoing basis.

Svensk Naturförvaltning AB is a consulting company engaged in the management and monitoring of renewable natural resources (forest, wildlife, nature conservation, etc.). The company's business idea is to develop and implement monitoring and follow-up systems with associated inventories, analyses, and reporting of results. Our specialty is to produce quantitative condition descriptions of various animal and plant communities.
