Job Responsibilities

Do you want to be a driving force in Malmö city's digital transformation and create long-term benefits for both our employees and the citizens of Malmö? As the Chief Digital Officer at the Employment and Social Administration, you will play a central role in shaping the future of IT and digital solutions and continue to drive development forward for the administration's nearly 3000 employees.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the digitalization unit, which consists of 16 engaged and specialized employees. You will ensure that the digitalization efforts align with the administration's goals and the city's overall strategy. You will lead the work of developing and implementing new digital solutions that support and streamline operations within the administration.

As a manager, you are responsible for the operations, finances, and personnel of the unit. You work based on a trust-based leadership style where collaboration, engagement, and respect are fundamental. You create conditions for a work environment characterized by creativity and innovation while leading change initiatives and driving digitalization forward.

Your work also includes building and developing relationships and collaborations, both internally within the administration and externally with other stakeholders, to achieve the best possible results for the administration and the citizens of Malmö.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university or college degree, at least at the bachelor's level, in IT, digitalization, or another relevant field. You have several years of managerial experience with personnel, financial, and operational responsibilities, as well as experience leading and driving digitalization projects in complex organizations. To succeed in this role, you need to be able to translate strategies into concrete results. It is an advantage if you have leadership or management training, experience working in a politically governed organization, experience in implementing and managing larger IT projects, and knowledge of agile methodology, AI, or software development. Furthermore, experience working with confidential personal data is a plus.

We are looking for someone who is flexible and easily adapts to changing circumstances and sees opportunities in change. You have a well-developed ability to create good collaborations and are unpretentious. Your communication skills allow you to communicate clearly and tailor information to your audience. You think long-term and see the big picture of the organization's needs. Additionally, you are structured and quality-conscious, planning, organizing, and prioritizing work effectively to achieve high quality.

The digitalization unit is part of the Employment and Social Administration in Malmö city and is responsible for overarching issues related to digitalization and IT. We work to support and develop the administration's operations and create value for the citizens of Malmö by leveraging the potential of digitalization.
