Professionals Nord is now launching, for the second time, the intensive training program in Signal Technology to educate the next generation of Signal Technicians. After the training, you are guaranteed employment with us and an assignment as a consultant at our client NRC for 18 months, with the intention and goal of continued employment at NRC provided that the collaboration has been successful.

Program Information

The training program is based on the Accelerated Learning method, which consists of shorter theoretical parts combined with practical elements to give you all the tools to succeed in the role. You will be trained in various technical and safety-related areas to work with railway systems' signaling systems.

Basic electricity
Safety, standards, and regulations for railway work
Signal technology
Switches and track circuits
Cable laying
Basic terms and symbols

You will undergo a free intensive training for 12 weeks, during which you will also receive a monthly training allowance (equivalent to CSN) to kick-start your new career as a signal technician!

Program Content

Start Event: Week 11
Training Period: March 17 – June 13, 2025
Training Location: Stockholm & Ängelholm. Professionals Nord provides accommodation during training.
Internship Dates: May 26 – June 2, 2025
First Day at NRC: June 16, 2025
Duration: Full-time
Workplace after training: Hallsberg

The training program is a close collaboration between Professionals Nord and NRC. After completing the program, you will be employed by us at Professionals Nord, and for the first 18 months, you will work as a consultant at our client NRC. Provided that the collaboration has been successful, the goal and intention are continued employment at NRC.

Job Information
NRC Group designs, builds, and maintains infrastructure solutions and is currently the leading railway infrastructure company in the Nordic region.

You will work with NRC's operations and maintenance contracts in the renowned railway hub of Hallsberg. The work includes both preventive and corrective maintenance on platforms and track areas.

As a signal technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the railway's signaling systems. You ensure that signals, switches, and other safety systems function correctly to guarantee safe and efficient train movements.

Your tasks will include:

Troubleshooting and diagnostics for railway issues
Repairing faulty or worn components
Performing preventive maintenance proactively
Documenting and reporting on the work you have done

We are looking for candidates who are technically inclined, have passed tests (MAP & Matrigma), have a valid health examination, a B driver's license, and speak and write fluently in Swedish.

Prior to employment, a criminal record extract will be required as this position may be subject to security clearance.
