Unit Manager for Payroll Center - Luleå Municipality

Responsibilities

As the Unit Manager for the Payroll Center with us, you will lead and develop an operation responsible for quality assurance and support in matters related to payroll administration and scheduling. We handle salaries and compensations for employees, managers, and elected representatives by providing efficient, reliable, and legally secure payroll administration.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing the unit with a focus on quality, efficiency, and service.
• Being responsible for personnel, budget, and work environment within the unit.
• Driving development and digitalization to improve our work processes and increase self-service.
• Ensuring compliance with laws, agreements, and internal rules in payroll management.
• Monitoring and analyzing the environment to ensure that the operation is at the forefront of development.
• Working closely with the HR office and other operations to ensure well-functioning processes.
• Building and nurturing networks and relationships both within and outside the organization.

You will work closely with two team leaders and together with them plan, schedule, and follow up on the work within the unit. You will have personnel responsibility for 27 employees whom you lead and coach to create the best conditions for them to succeed in their roles.

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for a confident leader with a good ability to build strong teams and develop an enabling attitude that allows employees to contribute and develop the business and themselves. You have several years of experience in leading an operation in payroll administration or a similar administrative area.

Furthermore, we see that you have:

• A university degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
• At least five years of experience in a managerial role, preferably in payroll administration or finance.
• Good knowledge of payroll administration and related regulations.
• Clear and communicative leadership skills with the ability to create engagement and participation.
• A coaching approach and experience in improvement work and digitalization.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
