The Education Administration is responsible for preschool, primary school, after-school care, high school, adult education, and child and student health. About 1100 employees work here to create a safe and developing school and childcare.

The Mother Tongue Unit consists of about 30 teachers who teach multilingual students. The students are spread across all municipal primary schools in Ystad municipality. Currently, we offer instruction in 25 languages. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a person, you find it easy to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You thrive in a work environment where collaboration is crucial for results. With us, you will belong to a large workgroup. This means you need to be collaborative and creative, working both independently and together with others to find good solutions in various situations. You also need to be structured and plan your work based on existing guidelines, but be flexible to adapt when needed.

As a mother tongue teacher, you will travel to the municipal primary schools both in Ystad and in rural schools to teach students in their mother tongue. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and documenting the teaching in the form of assessments and grading according to the curriculum in the subject of mother tongue with students of different ages. We expect you to meet students based on their individual needs and conditions, have a holistic view of students' learning, and a curiosity to use language-developing methods. The work also includes collaborating and developing your work together with colleagues in the Mother Tongue Unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have Danish as your mother tongue and documented language skills in this. Education in Swedish equivalent to Swedish as a second language at the high school level is necessary. The relevant language must be your mother tongue. You need to have knowledge of the Swedish school system and the teacher's role in Sweden, as well as experience using digital tools and working in various digital systems, such as Google environment and Office.

Swedish teacher certification or other pedagogical education in Sweden is meritorious, as is experience in mother tongue instruction or other pedagogical work with children or youth in Sweden. If you have documented knowledge of multiple languages, that is also meritorious, as well as studies in the relevant language at the college or university level. A driving license (B) makes communication between schools easier.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities: You are responsible and proactive, and you have a good ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Of course, you keep the student in focus, and you have the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and other staff in the team around the student. You see your part in the whole and can easily adapt when conditions change.
