Welcome to us

Midsommarkransens Gymnasium opened in 2013 and currently has around 700 students.

The school has a clear sports profile with students who are elite athletes in various team sports, as well as other students who want to combine their sports with studies. The school offers the Child and Leisure Program, the Social Science Program, and the Economics Program, as well as Introduction Programs and adapted upper secondary school. Midsommarkransens Gymnasium has a wide geographical and socio-economic catchment area. It is one of the few real meeting places in Stockholm's upper secondary school landscape.

The climate at the school is calm and welcoming, and the atmosphere is high among both students and staff.

Most of the staff at the school are teachers, but there are also custodians, counselors, school nurses, special educators, career counselors, administrative staff, school librarians, and principals.

The school also has its own chefs and kitchen staff who prepare our delicious meals every day. The school also has its own café. We all work together to provide students with the best conditions for their lifelong learning.

Your Role

Your mission as a school counselor at Midsommarkransens Gymnasium primarily focuses on health-promoting and preventive work, mainly targeting group and organizational levels, including the work model “It Doesn’t Show” and other preventive measures related to students' study situations. The position requires you to be flexible based on the needs of the organization.

Your Skills and Experience

You have a great ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You have excellent collaboration skills. You are engaged, solution-focused, and see opportunities based on given conditions. You have the ability and willingness to influence our school culture and contribute to the development of the school's student health work.

You can make professional assessments and can independently or in collaboration with others plan and implement measures. We prefer that you thrive with change and development. You are expected to take independent responsibility for your own professional work. The work also requires that you, as a school counselor, take responsibility for maintaining and deepening your professional competence and awareness of your surroundings.

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another equivalent education and previous experience. We place great emphasis on personal suitability in this recruitment.
