Description

The pulmonary medicine department offers an exciting and developing workplace where you as a nurse can make a difference for patients with complex medical needs.

We investigate and treat patients with everything from lung cancer, COPD, asthma, and pulmonary fibrosis to systemic diseases and newly diagnosed or worsened diabetes and infections. Here you will work with a diverse patient group where each day presents both acute challenges and long-term relationships. You will be involved in providing the highest quality care, from acute management to palliative care, and support patients throughout their care journey.

Responsibilities

As a nurse in the pulmonary medicine department, you will be an important part of an engaged and competent team. The care our patients receive includes oxygen and ventilator treatment, drainage treatment, cough machine and tracheostomy care, as well as palliative care when needed. You will work with both acute situations and long-term care plans for patients with serious and complex medical conditions. By being part of a multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to take your own initiatives, make decisions, and contribute to patient-centered care. Working hours are varied, including day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a recognized nursing degree and a strong commitment to patient care. Experience in pulmonary medicine is an advantage, but we also welcome those with a genuine interest in the field and a desire to develop within it. You should be able to work independently and take responsibility for your work, while also being a team player who communicates and collaborates easily. It is also important that you are flexible and able to adapt to different situations that may arise during the workday.

Other

Newly graduated nurses with less than four months of experience in the nursing profession are included in the Clinical Foundation Year, which is Skaraborg Hospital's introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and takes place during the first year of employment with us.
