As a kayak guide, you will alternate between guiding our guests on kayaking tours, preparing groups for self-guided trips, and welcoming guests at our kayak centers. As a kayak guide, you take full responsibility for the guests, which includes planning and purchasing food, preparing equipment, coordinating with base staff, receiving guests, guiding, wrapping up, and caring for equipment after the tour. The guiding can consist of shorter day trips or longer multi-day tours. For self-guided trips and rentals, you assist guests with planning, preparation, and knowledge transfer (e.g., support in trip planning, kayak safety, and basic paddling techniques). A degree/training as a wilderness guide and/or kayak instructor is required for the kayak guide role. As a kayak guide, you are also helpful and share your knowledge with the rest of the team to ensure that the organization as a whole can deliver high-quality, safe, and enjoyable kayaking experiences.
