Are you an educator who wants to actively drive the development of the after-school program forward? We are now looking for educators for our after-school program who have the willingness to take overall responsibility for driving the systematic quality work based on the after-school program's mission. The size of our after-school program offers great opportunities for collegial collaboration as well as many creative solutions, ideas, and projects.

Långängskolan is Hallsberg Municipality's largest F-6 school with nearly 430 students and three after-school divisions: F, 1-2, and 3-6. The school is well located on the outskirts of Hallsberg with proximity to swimming, libraries, and sports fields, as well as to forest and nature areas. The schoolyard, which is large and varied with both wooded areas, play structures, sports fields, and social spaces, was renovated in 2022 to provide beautiful and varied spaces for our students.

In our future work, we want to focus particularly on developing the teaching in the after-school program based on the curriculum's goals. We want to develop and improve the program's shared structures, both for daily operations and with an annual cycle that indicates themes and holiday activities throughout the school year. In collaboration with the school, we aim for mutual cooperation where we, based on a clear division of roles, work towards common goals.

About the Position

The role of a teacher in the after-school program means that you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the after-school activities together with your colleagues. You will help drive meaningful break activities where all students feel safe. The position involves close collaboration with classroom teachers as well as teamwork with other after-school staff and potential resources. You actively work for a school where everyone is included in the activities and where the best interests of the student are the focus throughout the school day.

Qualifications

We are looking for new colleagues who find joy in following students' development, not only towards the school's goals but also based on the goals that the after-school program has in its mission. You have a conscious pedagogical approach where student participation and responsibility are a given. You are used to taking responsibility, are a good role model, and act professionally in relation to students, guardians, colleagues, and management. You are a present educator who easily collaborates with others and sees collegial learning as a direction forward with a focus on your mission. We are looking for someone who has the ability to create routines and structures that provide students with clarity and security but who is also creative and has an interest in designing, implementing, and evaluating activities and projects – e.g., in physical activity and health, social interaction and relationship building, creativity, and aesthetic expression.

In addition to your future colleagues in a flexible staff group with a good atmosphere and willingness to collaborate, there is a principal group that actively drives and prioritizes the work with the after-school program, both regarding budget, engagement, and presence.
