Description of the Operation

The Neuropsychiatry area is one of five adult psychiatric areas responsible for patients with neuropsychiatric disabilities, eating disorders, deaf psychiatry, memory disorders, Huntington's disease, geriatric psychiatric inpatient care, and geriatric psychiatric mobile teams.

The operation is research-intensive and actively participates in several healthcare education programs. We have close collaboration with other actors involved in patient care and support. In other words, it is a knowledge-intensive organization where we perform varied and important work, and where there are good opportunities for personal development.

The mobile geriatric psychiatry team started in the spring of 2022. The purpose is to offer a safe discharge and prevent readmissions for patients with more complex care needs. You will be part of a team that together drives and develops new working methods. Your competence in both psychiatric and geriatric and somatic care will be able to develop. As the mobile team grows and expands, we are looking for more nurses. Working hours are during the day, on weekdays without weekends.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse in the mobile geriatric psychiatry team, you will conduct subacute or planned home visits together with the team’s doctor or another nurse/caretaker. Visits may involve structured suicide risk assessments, medication follow-ups, but the tasks may vary with each home visit. The mobile team is under development, but if you are a person with experience in psychiatry and/or geriatrics, you will quickly adapt to the work, or you will receive good support. We are a great team!

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse with further education in psychiatry, geriatrics, or dementia. We value personal qualities such as the ability to work independently and interact with interdisciplinary teams, good interaction with patients, relatives, and colleagues, as well as good collaboration, initiative, and organizational skills.

A valid driver's license (B) is a requirement.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introductory program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. In addition, it also includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.
