JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a companion or respite caregiver, you work to provide support according to LSS (The Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons). You are assigned a specific task for one individual. This means you work to support the same person according to their individual needs.

As a companion, you support the individual in having an active, social, and meaningful leisure time. You are expected to provide opportunities for the person to participate in leisure activities outside the home. The activities are based on the individual's wishes and can include, for example, participating in community life, engaging in sports, going to the cinema, restaurants, or other leisure activities.

Respite care at home means that you, as a respite caregiver, stay at home with the person who has been granted respite to allow family members time for their own activities or rest. The caregiver's task is to provide support based on the individual's needs and to be there as a source of security and companionship.

The work usually takes place in the evenings and on weekends. Assignments can range from 9 to 20 hours per month, and you typically meet the person 3-4 times a month, depending on their needs and preferences.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine commitment to supporting others and shows care in their work.
• Has the ability to work professionally with a focus on the individual's needs and interests.
• Is structured, can plan, and work independently.
• Has patience and the ability to create security.
• Is at least 18 years old.
• Speaks and writes good Swedish; other languages (including sign language) can be an advantage.

We would also like you to have experience in pedagogical work, work within LSS, or other care and support services, or education in fields such as healthcare, social pedagogy, or psychiatry.
