The smaller municipality and Härryda's own organization enable good and close collaboration within both social services and other operations. The Children and Family unit in Härryda is part of the social services sector and consists of three units: one unit for reception and preventive work, one unit for investigation and protection, and one unit focused on family support and foster homes. All units work closely together to find the best and most sustainable solutions for those we meet. We are keen to develop and think innovatively, and an important foundation in this work is Signs of Safety. In the role of 1st social worker, you would belong to the Family Support and Foster Home Unit.

The Family Support and Foster Home Unit consists of seven family therapists, five child social workers, and five foster care social workers, two 1st social workers (one for child social workers and one for family therapists and foster care social workers), and a unit manager. We also have two part-time employees, one of whom is a visitation supporter and the other works with follow-up and supervision of contact persons and families. The employees have experience, commitment, and high ambitions.

One of the unit's two 1st social workers will move on to a new assignment in our organization, and therefore we are now looking for a 1st social worker for a group of family therapists and a group of foster care social workers. We are looking for someone who is engaged, open to different perspectives, and wants to create sustainable solutions, always with the child's best interests in mind.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of 1st social worker, you will lead and distribute work for family therapists and foster care social workers. It is a rewarding job that requires great commitment and good knowledge in family support and foster care. The assignment includes ensuring that the work in the unit is conducted in accordance with applicable legislation and is based on current knowledge, proven experience, and good quality. You provide support in daily work, both individually and in groups. Together with your 1st colleague and unit manager, you plan and develop the work with family support and foster care from a holistic perspective. You have a coordinating role and will work towards good collaboration with external and internal operations.

You will work with environmental monitoring, method development, and be involved in the introduction of new employees. In many matters, such as development work, professional development, and implementation of routines and methods, you will also participate in the expanded management group of the operational area and have a significant opportunity to influence and develop the work within the area. The team leaders in the unit have different areas of responsibility but share a common overall responsibility for the leadership of the employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

To apply, you should have a degree in social work or another education that the employer deems equivalent. You should preferably have experience in a leadership role. For the position, it is required that you write and speak Swedish fluently. You need to be active and responsible and utilize a coaching leadership style.

Other requirements for the position are:

  • Documented experience of working within social services with children and families and with foster care.
  • Updated knowledge in the field of social work and knowledge of applicable legislation.

It is an advantage if you:

  • Are educated in and have experience working according to BBIC and Signs of Safety.
  • Have previous leadership experience in the role of first social worker, group leader, or equivalent.
  • Relevant further education.

You need to have good leadership qualities and an open, trust-building approach that inspires and develops others. You should be comfortable making decisions and distributing tasks. The ability to think holistically, collaborate, and be creative are also important qualities. You should be a responsible and structured person. To obtain employment, a criminal record extract from the police must be presented.
