Your tasks

We are now looking for substitute teachers who want to be part of our creative and dynamic operations and help create the best conditions for learning. The role includes teaching in schools and after-school programs, documentation, quality and safety work, planning, parent contacts, and more. As a substitute teacher, you will work in a classroom and be responsible for the subjects and the class during school hours. As a substitute in the after-school program, you will often work as a resource in class during school hours and in the afternoon with teaching in the after-school program.

You will be part of the team responsible for developing teaching and operations through collegial collaboration. Through good familiarity with the school's governing documents and through clear leadership, you will work towards good goal fulfillment and well-being for all students.

Your workplace

The Harvestad Schools consist of Harvestad School, built in 2015, and Bogestad School, which was completed in 2018. Our two schools have approximately 530 students. The schools are nestled between football fields, residential areas, and beautiful forest environments.

Who you are

To work in our schools, you must be at least 18 years old. You need to have a high school diploma or an ongoing adult education program to become a childcare worker. We primarily seek individuals with relevant education, such as ongoing or completed studies to become a childcare worker or teacher. You need to have experience working with children/youth for at least 4 weeks, which can be paid work, internships, or volunteer work. It is an advantage if you have worked in preschools, schools, and/or after-school programs. You should be able to apply your knowledge and experiences in practical teaching when supporting children and students in their development; therefore, experience and personal suitability are important.

It is a requirement that you have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary for you to organize and carry out work in accordance with the curriculum (Lgr18) so that the child receives support in their language and communication development and to ensure that every child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

You should be able to contribute to adapting teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In your role as a substitute, you should be a good role model. You have the ability to collaborate well with the contacts that occur in your professional role, adapted to the situation. In the role of a substitute, it is also important that you take initiative and responsibility in activities and tasks that occur in the operations. Since you are booked according to the needs of the operations, it means that one day is rarely the same as another, and we believe that you are a flexible person who can easily adapt to new operations/work environments and group constellations.
