We are looking for a social worker for the reception group at the unit for financial assistance for a parental leave position during the period 1/5 - 31/10 2025.

The unit's focus is to provide support that strengthens the individual's ability to achieve self-sufficiency and an independent life. This involves processing applications for financial assistance and collaborating with both internal and external actors to promote social change work.

The unit consists of two groups: the Reception Group and the Investigation Group, which also includes grant administrators. Each group is led by a unit manager and group leader.

The social department works to develop a cohesive social service with a clear focus on achieving the best possible results for our users.

The workplace is located in modern premises in Hammarby Sjöstad, where we work in open landscapes.

Your role

In the role of social worker in the reception group, your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Receiving citizens applying for financial assistance and providing clear information about the conditions.
• Investigating the right to assistance, assessing, and making decisions about financial assistance.
• Handling and making decisions promptly when necessary.
• Collaborating both internally, within the unit, area, administration, and city, as well as externally with actors such as the Region, the Social Insurance Agency, the Police, and the Employment Agency.

The work is characterized by a fast pace, where you are expected to make quick reprioritizations and handle stressful situations. You also work based on the dual mission of social services: to support the individual towards self-sufficiency while investigating the right to financial assistance.

Your qualifications and experience

• Degree in social work (Social Work Degree)
• At least 1 year of experience in public authority and financial assistance
• Confidence in documenting and managing cases correctly
• Good communicator with strong collaboration skills
• Basic knowledge of Motivational Interviewing (MI)
