Substitute Supervisor for the Carpentry Workshop at Arbetscentrum

The mission of the Employment Unit is to provide meaningful employment with a focus on recovery.

The unit consists of three operations. At the Work Center, individualized meaningful employment is offered in a learning environment. At Framsteget, opportunities for internships and volunteer work are provided, and in IPS: support for work and studies is given. As our colleague in the carpentry workshop will be on study leave, we are looking for a substitute supervisor who can take over the work in the carpentry workshop at Arbetscentrum.

You will be part of the team at Arbetscentrum, but you will lead your own group in the workshop's carpentry. You will also lead the gardening group. Other groups include café, kitchen, media, sewing, art, and Framsteget. Additionally, we offer wellness activities and user-led groups.

Job Responsibilities

You will supervise users with mental disabilities in their employment in the carpentry workshop and gardening. In the carpentry workshop, work is done with fine carpentry and traditional handicrafts, as well as the reuse of old furniture and wooden items. We also accept orders, produce products for our shop, and collaborate with other parts of the municipality on simpler carpentry projects. Your main task is to supervise and support users in their work in the carpentry workshop and gardening group, as well as provide them with opportunities for recovery through meaningful employment. In the gardening group, we work in the house's kitchen garden and grow vegetables, flowers, herbs, fruits, and berries for the benefit of the participants. Some of the vegetables are used in the house's café and restaurant, and the surplus is sold in the shop. The assignment also includes occasionally leading our wellness group. We go out together and walk in nature, train at outdoor gyms, or engage in other wellness activities that benefit the participants' recovery.

We are looking for someone who

We believe that you are empathetic and see each individual grow while being able to lead the work in a carpentry workshop and in the garden. You have the ability to help others grow, possess excellent collaboration skills, and find it easy to build relationships. You enjoy working independently while also being able to see your role in a larger context. Flexibility and a strong sense of service are also important factors in the job.

You have a YH education with a focus on social psychiatry, social pedagogy, or another education that the employer finds equivalent, while also having a burning interest in carpentry and experience working in a carpentry workshop. You may also be a trained carpenter, woodwork teacher, or similar, with a passion for people and experience working in a supervisory role with individuals. You should have basic knowledge of simpler, small-scale gardening and horticulture. If you have training in a recovery-oriented approach, it is an advantage.

The assignment includes documentation and other administrative tasks, so you need to have good computer skills and proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. Experience documenting in Lifecare is an advantage.
