This autumn, Lillåkers School will open. A new resource school focused on autism will open in newly renovated premises in Lidingö, where all students follow the national curriculum. We offer you the opportunity to help build a fantastic operation for students who require that little extra. You will be involved in creating environments, operations, and building a team around the students.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role of school counselor involves promoting, preventing, and remedial work at the organizational, group, and individual levels from a psychosocial and salutogenic perspective. Lillåkers School will work from the premise that student health work begins in the classroom, where the professionals in student health make their best contributions. You will be part of the school’s student health team and collaborate with school management, educators, and other student health staff to support students’ development towards the school’s goals. The contributions from student health are primarily of a promoting nature. You are well acquainted with the governing documents and how to document your assignments.

You will work with guidance and consultation for staff, work in class and groups together with teachers, and have supportive conversations with students aimed at supporting the student’s schooling or helping with support outside of school. You are responsible for the schools’ well-being and safety work. The position also includes attendance-promoting work as well as work against discrimination and bullying. You actively work with follow-up and interventions regarding school absenteeism together with the EHT and working teams. The work also includes conducting school social investigations at the request of the principal and you participate in meetings with guardians as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in social work or another qualification we consider equivalent.
  • Experience as a school counselor in primary school.
  • Good knowledge of the school’s mission and governing documents.
  • Good experience working in digital systems and documenting.
  • Strong ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Good collaborative skills, easy to build relationships and collaborate with students, guardians, school teams, student health teams, and school management.

OTHER

The municipality applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
