We are currently seeking a Head Waiter for the Restaurant at Scandic Malmen, which is undergoing a major renovation.

What does the role of Head Waiter entail?

As someone working in our restaurant, you are the first guest meets in our restaurant, so it is crucial that you have a warm demeanor and are attentive to details and the guest's needs. You have a burning interest in food and drink and enjoy order and tidiness, both in your own and your colleagues' work. All to provide our guests with a fantastic dining experience. Your main tasks will be to welcome guests, lead and coach the team on-site, and ensure that all our guests have a fantastic experience. You will also support the hotel team with other tasks as needed.

In the role of Head Waiter, you are responsible for hospitality for the entire hotel, both towards guests and employees. Besides being part of the operation, you have an overall view of the guest flow in the restaurant and, together with the team, ensure that tasks are prioritized so that the operation runs smoothly and guests are satisfied. You lead and delegate work and manage staffing during your shift. If necessary, you will have the opportunity to train new employees at the hotel and also relieve the Restaurant Manager of certain administrative tasks.

Who are you?

To fit the role, we believe you have at least two years of experience in a similar position and experience in concept-driven operations. You have both the ability and the desire to work with hands-on leadership. You are confident in your leadership and possess both integrity and sales drive. However, your personal qualities and attitude are the most important. To fit the role, you need to be a good team player who takes significant responsibility for your tasks and the overall result. It is also important that you can convey good hospitality to the hotel’s guests.

Information about the position:

The position is a permanent full-time employment. We apply a 6-month probationary period. You report to the Restaurant Manager and are responsible on-site in the restaurant in their absence. The position involves evening work. Start date is April.
