The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse issues. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Fagared receives non-compulsory school boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.
Job Description
Do you want to be part of creating a life-changing transformation for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge.
The assignment as a treatment pedagogue in our treatment departments at the Öxnevalla unit in Horred, Marks municipality is challenging and complex but also very rewarding. At the Öxnevalla unit, we have two locked treatment departments where you as a treatment pedagogue will work to build secure relationships and contribute to our youth receiving the safety and security they need to break ingrained behaviors. For this task, we are now looking for several new employees.
The goal of your assignment is to create hope, forward movement, and meaning in life situations that have been affected by psychosocial problems, exclusion, and substance abuse. You will work on building secure relationships, but also with selected and well-functioning treatment methods. Making that journey at different stages of the youth's lives is tough and challenging work on all levels. You will work in a team of engaged colleagues, and with your combined expertise, you have the opportunity to achieve good results.

Working hours are according to a schedule: day, evening, and weekend.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS's operations.
Qualifications
To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time building relationships with both youth and other staff members. You have good communication skills and can maintain your composure even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.
You should also have:
- A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or an equivalent degree from a university
- A valid driver's license (B)
- Good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form

Employment:
The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
