The area of operation (VO) forensic psychiatry has been a unified forensic psychiatric area within Region Skåne since 2009. We are currently in a development phase, with an increased focus on outpatient care, expanded collaboration with Skåne's municipalities, and a focus on the content of care. VO forensic psychiatry is part of the management of Psychiatry, habilitation, and aids, and we consist of forensic psychiatric units in Malmö, Trelleborg, Helsingborg, Hässleholm, and Kristianstad. Within forensic psychiatry, we work in interdisciplinary teams and today we are about 300 employees.

We care for individuals who have been sentenced to forensic psychiatric care by the court, many of whom have psychotic disorders, multiple disabilities with functional impairments, and substance abuse. It is common to encounter secondary complications such as lack of formal education, social isolation, and ostracism.

The goal of forensic psychiatric care is to habilitate and rehabilitate individuals suffering from a severe mental disorder to a daily life in society with increased psychosocial functioning and reduced risk of reoffending. Ward 3 has 14 care places primarily intended for patients who have been sentenced to forensic psychiatry. We also have the capacity to receive unconvicted detained patients who are in need of acute psychiatric care. We have an ISO-certified management and work environment system.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We now welcome two new nurses to us for permanent positions. Our nursing group currently consists of five nurses and we are now looking for two more colleagues.

As a nurse with us, you will have a leading role in care and be responsible for nursing. You are part of an interdisciplinary work team consisting of doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, nursing assistants, and caregivers. The tasks are varied, professionally developing, and give you a broad societal perspective based on the collaboration you have with the legal system.

Through a respectful and knowledgeable approach, we currently have a very low frequency of threats and violence within forensic psychiatry. We see your contribution to the unit's continuous development as a very important part of your work. Forensic psychiatry in Sweden has increasingly focused on working evidence-based in recent years. VO forensic psychiatry currently has the status of university hospital care, which means that through our research, education, and knowledge management, we are at the forefront of the development of health and medical care.

As a new employee, you will receive an individually tailored introduction with shadowing based on personal needs. With us, you will have the opportunity for ongoing supervision, for example, in patient work and professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are a requirement. If you also have further education in psychiatry, this is an advantage. Previous experience of working in psychiatric inpatient care is a benefit for the position. You have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and we would like you to have experience with the journal system Melior.
