The Federation's office is located in Arboga in pleasant premises at the University Center, near Arboga railway station. Arboga is just half an hour from Örebro, Västerås, and Eskilstuna. The Federation's office has two units, the Environmental and Health Protection Unit and the Building Permit Unit, as well as a central administration. In total, the federation has 18 employees, and everyone has their own office.

The Western Mälardalen Authority Federation is a municipal federation with Arboga and Kungsör municipalities as members. The federation's tasks are to perform the municipalities' duties in the field of environmental and health protection, as well as tasks within the planning and building legislation. The federation is also responsible for the municipalities' energy counseling.

Working at the federation means having flexible hours, the opportunity to work remotely two days a week, a wellness hour per week, and your own office.

Job Responsibilities

The main tasks are supervision, processing, and assessment within the areas of the Environmental Code concerning environmentally hazardous activities and contaminated areas. Other tasks within the environmental protection area may also be relevant.

The work also includes providing advice and information. The work is independent, but you will work closely with others in the Environmental and Health Protection Unit. This is to ensure a common understanding and achieve high quality with professional and legally secure processing.

Qualifications for the Position

We are looking for someone with a university degree in environmental and health protection or another university degree deemed equivalent by the employer. You have previously worked as an environmental and health protection inspector and have experience in regulatory authority within the Environmental Code. You are accustomed to working in digital environments.

You have good collaboration skills and are good at working independently. You can plan, organize, and perform your work efficiently and legally securely. A holistic perspective and the ability to follow a project from the idea stage to completion are valuable qualities.

The work requires that you have a good ability to meet people in various situations and can express yourself well in both speech and writing. Working as an inspector involves many contacts with operators, authorities, and the public, so great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

A valid B driver's license (manual) is required.

The position is permanent. Start date by agreement.
