In Ludvika and Smedjebacken, children and youth are important! We demonstrate this by making children and youth the center of the municipal organization. Most resources directed towards children and youth have been gathered under one committee. This includes preschool, primary school, special school, and also social welfare. A common feature of all activities is a conscious quality effort to constantly develop and improve work with children and youth. The Culture School has been part of the Västerbergslagen Education Association (VBU) since 2019.

The Västerbergslagen Culture School has approximately 900 active students in subjects such as music, dance, theater, and digital creation, and a total of 25 employees. The Culture School primarily targets children and youth but can also accept adult students. We have many orchestras and ensembles. In 2024, we held about 85 concerts and other outreach activities. We also conduct projects in primary schools.

Job Responsibilities

Teach the Culture School's students in violin and viola through traditional teaching and lead and play in the Culture School's string orchestras. Knowledge of the Suzuki method is an asset.

Qualifications

Relevant higher education or equivalent that the employer assesses as equivalent. Suzuki training is desirable. Experience teaching in a Culture School is an asset.

Employment Conditions

The position is a permanent employment at 100%. Start date 12/8-2025. We can apply a 6-month probationary period and request an extract from the criminal record upon employment.
