Specialist Physician/Senior Physician at Imaging and Functional Medicine Västerbotten

The Imaging and Functional Medicine (BFM) Västerbotten conducts extensive operations at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå, Skellefteå Hospital, and Lycksele Hospital, as well as at health centers in southern Lapland. BFM Västerbotten is responsible for imaging radiological examinations such as nuclear medicine, mammography, and advanced peripheral and neuroradiological interventions. The equipment includes five MRI machines, nine CT scanners, two PET/CT scanners, and a cyclotron. The clinic performs approximately 190,000 examinations per year. A large part of the operations consists of rounds conducted at local, regional, and national levels. Research is conducted in collaboration with Umeå University, focusing on fMRI and nuclear medicine with PET/CT, and international collaborative projects are ongoing. In collaboration with the university, training of physicians and radiology nurses is also conducted. The clinic employs just under 300 staff.

The position is based at Norrland University Hospital.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a specialist physician/senior physician with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel secure.

This role includes radiological management and assessments of relevant radiological examinations. As a specialist physician/senior physician, you participate in the clinic's daily work, train residents, and collaborate with other staff in the clinic's quality and development work. On-call and standby duties are included.

QUALIFICATIONS

For this job, you need to be a licensed physician with specialist competence in medical radiology and have good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1. Experience in research is an advantage. Interest in and current competence in general radiological MRI examinations are both advantageous and a prerequisite for thriving in this role.
