JOB DESCRIPTION

As a cook, you will work in the kitchen at Norrtälje Prison and be part of a team with other cooks and a kitchen manager. The kitchen staff at the prison prepares meals for all of the inmates.

The tasks include all common kitchen duties such as planning, preparation, cooking lunch, dinner, and special diets. It also includes regular kitchen tasks distributed within the team, as well as self-control in accordance with applicable legislation. You will also play an important role in the prison's ambition to prepare all food from scratch.

Working hours are daytime, Monday - Friday, with weekend work approximately every second week.

We will need full-time substitutes during the period from week 24 to week 33. We prefer that you can work the entire period, but even if you cannot work the whole period, it may still be of interest. There is also a high probability of opportunities to work as a part-time employee both before and after the summer substitute period.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable. You are calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks. Since clients who are employed partially work in the kitchen, it is also important that you have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and that you can adapt the way you convey messages.

You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect you and others. We are looking for someone who has:

• Professional experience as a cook.
• Restaurant or large-scale catering education.
• The ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working in a large kitchen.
• Experience working with self-control.
• Experience working with special diets.

We have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Security Protection Act. The position is placed in a security class, and a security clearance including a security interview with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. During the security clearance, you will be investigated as a person, your background, and your relationships from a security perspective. You will receive more information about the security clearance and any forms to sign during your job interview.
