About the position

We offer you as a psychologist a varied and developing job. Your main tasks are to assess, treat, and investigate children and young people up to 18 years old. You have the opportunity to focus your work on what particularly interests you, such as assessment/diagnostics or psychological treatment work. Many parts of your work are team-based and conducted together with other professionals to create a patient-safe and cohesive care process for the patient. Collaboration with care neighbors, schools, and social services is an important part of the work.

The clinic has a well-established structure that allows for a high degree of independent work. You will receive support in your work through our team conferences and regular collegial and external supervision. You will be part of a competent treatment team with a group of psychologists who meet regularly to evaluate and improve the work.

Who are we?

The psychiatry in Halland is responsible for all publicly driven specialist psychiatry within the region. This includes services for children, adolescents, and adults, both outpatient and inpatient care. Psychiatry Halland has about 650 employees and operations in all municipalities in the region. The psychiatry is led by a management director, operational managers, and department heads. Our motto is: “Psychiatry Halland – in constant improvement.”

BUP Varberg is a well-functioning clinic with good treatment results and high patient satisfaction. Our team consists of about 25 employees with a wide range of experiences and competencies. Here, psychologists, doctors, social workers, nurses, medical secretaries, special educators, and occupational therapists work together around the needs of the patient.

We work closely with research using evidence-based methods and guidelines. We have high ambitions and actively work to improve, including through quality follow-ups of all our patients.

With us, the doors are open, both for collegial support and for sharing laughter. We have common coffee breaks and enjoy having fun together. Varberg as a city offers pleasant outdoor lunches and the opportunity for a swim in the sea all year round. The clinic is located in central Varberg near the train station.

Who are you?

You are a licensed psychologist and thrive in a stimulating job that requires flexibility and problem-solving skills. You have a good ability to create well-functioning cross-professional relationships and have a high level of ambition in your professional practice.

You are knowledgeable in psychiatric diagnostics and have your theoretical grounding in CBT. As a specialist psychiatric clinic, we value specialized competence and therefore prefer that you are or have the ambition to become a specialist psychologist. We see it as a given that you are engaged and involved in the development work ongoing at the clinic and that you are as eager as the rest of the team to contribute to a good working environment.

Experience working as a psychologist with children and adolescents is meritorious. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability during the recruitment process.

BUP Halland has focused on implementation research and methods to improve screening and diagnostics for several years. For example, research projects are currently underway regarding physical activity as treatment for depression in adolescents and factors affecting the implementation of depression guidelines at BUP. Several staff members combine research with clinical service.
