Power Trader Physical Trading

Your Role

We are now looking for a new team member for our Power Trading department. As a power trader focusing on physical trading, you will be part of a team that carries out physical trading in the electricity market and contributes to its development during a time characterized by significant change and exciting development.

The work involves participating in the physical trading process, which includes market analysis, trading on various electricity markets, and monitoring operations. Analyzing market developments, improving our forecasts, and translating that into trading on the market is your main driving force.

This position may require weekend work.

We Are Looking For You

We are looking for someone with a relevant academic background, such as in IT, engineering, or economics. We prefer candidates with experience in the energy market, particularly in market analysis and trading. Strong IT skills are also desirable. Knowledge in data analysis, mathematics, and programming is a plus.

To thrive in this role, it is essential that you have a strong interest in the energy market. You should enjoy taking responsibility and be self-driven, motivated, and curious. You will independently make important decisions based on your analyses, so it is crucial to be meticulous and analytical. At the same time, you should enjoy being part of a team and contribute to the whole with your energy, ability, and interest in communicating and collaborating with colleagues, customers, and partners.

A valid driver's license and proficiency in both Swedish and English are required.

Currently, our power trading team consists of 9 individuals responsible for trading, consulting, and risk management in the electricity market. Our trading is based on analyzing electricity price developments in the short and long term, which we also communicate internally and externally. Based on this, we support Mälarenergi's operations and our customers to meet strategies and goals related to the electricity market.

We also function as an expert unit regarding business development/product development, for example, by developing methods and competencies for flexibility resources and trading in ancillary service markets.
