JOB DESCRIPTION

The work involves mother tongue instruction in the mother tongue Finnish. In the role of mother tongue teacher, you will teach students in their mother tongue and actively contribute to the pedagogical development work within the subject.

You will be part of an engaged teacher group where collegial learning is an obvious part of the work. Together, we create a learning environment characterized by collaboration, reflection, and a shared responsibility to give students the best possible conditions for success.

You will belong to the Unit for Multilingualism, a unit consisting of both mother tongue teachers and study guides. Every Tuesday, we gather for joint meetings focusing on collegial learning, where we together develop the quality of teaching in the subject of mother tongue and deepen the work with effective study guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for YOU who have Finnish as your mother tongue and meet the Swedish National Agency for Education's requirements to teach in the mother tongue. This means you have a teaching degree and at least 30 higher education credits in mother tongue Finnish. You have documented very good skills in Finnish both orally and in writing. If you have a pedagogical education from another country, it must be validated by the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR).

To succeed in the role, we see that you:

• Have good didactic skills in Finnish.
• Have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
• Have experience of teaching in Swedish schools and are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and work in line with the curriculum's goals and values.
• Are accustomed to documenting, following up, and evaluating teaching.
• Have good digital competence and use digital tools in a pedagogical and reflective way.
