HR Specialist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital
Together, we are developing Sahlgrenska University Hospital for a sustainable future. We are transforming healthcare with the goal of becoming Europe's leading university hospital by 2032. Together with patients, we work for quality, accessibility, patient safety, research, education, and innovation – in a cohesive healthcare system in the Västra Götaland region. Our vision and goals aim for care of the highest quality, where the patient is always in focus. We provide healthcare locally and regionally, but also highly specialized care to patients across the country and abroad. Our employees are our strength, contributing to knowledge exchanges nationally and internationally. With digital tools and new working methods, we can simplify daily operations at the hospital and offer modern, accessible, and efficient care of the highest quality.
About the Workplace
Sahlgrenska University Hospital (SU) is one of Europe's largest university hospitals, with over 16,000 employees and several national healthcare assignments.
In addition to healthcare, our mission includes conducting research, education, and development in close collaboration with several external actors, primarily the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg.
The hospital's operations are organized into six areas, as well as a hospital-wide administration. Queen Silvia's Children's Hospital and Women's Health belong to Area 1. The area consists of eight operational areas and is led by an area manager. The functions for HR, finance, and development are part of the staff located at Östra Hospital. About ten HR specialists work in the HR department.
Sahlgrenska University Hospital is in a development phase, with several different change initiatives to achieve the overarching goal of becoming Europe's leading university hospital by 2032, and HR plays an important role in contributing to the transformation.
Job Responsibilities
The HR department is a close and active partner to the hospital's operations in addressing the challenges faced by healthcare. With high competence in the HR field and good knowledge of the operational conditions, we work together with the operations in both operational and strategic matters. Through ongoing collaboration with other staff functions, we provide comprehensive support to managers in children's and women's healthcare.
As an HR specialist, you will work as a partner/generalist for one or more operational areas. You will have a natural place in the management team of the operation and serve as support to managers in relevant HR matters, including labor law, work environment and health, collaboration, rehabilitation, competence supply, and wage formation. In the HR department, we work in teams to develop and utilize our resources and competencies in the best way. Teamwork also allows for deeper engagement in specific areas, such as work environment or competence supply.
As an HR specialist, there is also the opportunity to participate in hospital-wide development groups and networks, thus supporting the operation at various organizational levels.
About You
We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our department and contribute to our and the hospital's continued development. You have an academic degree with a focus on HR or another academic education that the employer deems equivalent. You have a social commitment and interest in the management and governance of public operations. The position requires at least three years of experience in qualified HR work, preferably as a generalist or partner in the public sector. We would like you to have competence in one or more of the following areas:
- competence supply
- work environment and health
- change management, preferably with specific experience related to driving or contributing to projects related to digitalization
As a person, you are attentive, have good analytical skills and a holistic view. You are development-oriented and enjoy driving processes independently as well as collaboratively. Your approach is solution-focused, and you can adapt to changing circumstances. You find it easy to collaborate with others and create good relationships.
We offer you a fun and qualified job in an extraordinary operation, where you will be part of an engaged HR department.
Welcome with your application!
