Who will you be working with?

A wonderful boy, soon to be 7 years old, is looking for more assistants for his team. He lives on the outskirts of Alingsås with his family, which consists of parents and two younger siblings.

The boy has a neurological condition that means he requires personal assistance around the clock. He thrives on closeness and hearing sounds around him. He is calm by nature and enjoys being in the hustle and bustle of loved ones. He enjoys listening to stories when his assistants read to him, as well as hearing audiobooks and music. The boy enjoys company, and his younger siblings love to play and have fun in his room, where he often spends time with his assistant.

The boy needs someone to help him with all aspects of daily life, and you will therefore be his support through everything. He does not have a spoken language, has limited vision, and uses a wheelchair to explore the world. During weekdays, he is at home, and you as an assistant will therefore be a significant part of his and the family's daily life. You will be a secure point and care for his best interests in all situations. Double assistance may occur on certain days/times.

Job Scope

We are looking for someone who wants to work approximately 50-75% during the summer, with a good possibility of extension.

For this position, you primarily need to be able to work nights, but we would also like you to combine that with day shifts. Weekends may occur!

You should have a calm and present demeanor, be empathetic, and able to act quickly in emergency situations. In this job, you should be attentive and independent to take your own initiatives.

You should be comfortable being part of a family with children, where your role as a personal assistant plays a significant part in enabling the boy to participate in everyday life with his family.

It is advantageous if you have experience working with children, especially children with disabilities. It is welcome – but not a requirement – that you have experience with epilepsy, handling feeding tubes, and/or managing medical technical aids such as suction devices.

To thrive in this job, you should: - Enjoy working independently as well as in a team - Be able to act quickly regarding decisions related to medication, breathing, or similar - Be comfortable working with breathing monitoring and with cough machines, suction devices, and other medical technical aids

Getting to work: It is to your advantage if you have a car, as public transport is not the best to the family's house. But if you enjoy cycling or have other alternative means of transport, it is about a 15-minute bike ride from central Alingsås.
