Technical Preparer in Steel - Shipbuilding Engineering

Your Role

You will work on both new construction and modernization projects of submarines and surface vessels. Over time, you will have the opportunity to work with the entire lifecycle of products and in various phases of projects. You will be a vital part of the collaboration between design and production in the development and integration of new technical solutions in the steel area.

In the Shipbuilding Engineering department, we work with production calculations, construction methodology, and assembly order including geometric securing and make/buy assessment orders, production aids, fixtures (included in aids), construction analyses, and work order preparation of the product's manufacturing basis. Additionally, planning for efficient production implementation in the production facility's equipment and processes. Your daily work has several cross-functional interfaces and often involves dialogue with engineers in interdisciplinary techniques, purchasing, design, and production personnel.

Your Profile

You may be just starting your career or you may be a senior engineer with several years of experience in production preparation and engineering. The most important thing for us is your willingness to develop both yourself and others, your good collaborative skills, and your ability to take responsibility and initiative. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology and people who understands the importance of interacting and working cross-functionally to find the best answers to complex problems.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in mechanical engineering, marine design, or equivalent experience from professional life
• Good communication and presentation skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Natural initiative and a desire to take ownership of your contributions
• Humility and perseverance to continuously improve and develop our operations
• Strong technical interest and a curious approach

Desirable

• Marine industry, process or manufacturing industry in areas such as steel, machining, or surface treatment
• Large-scale, complex development projects and operations
• Technical project management/coordinating within process or product development
• Design and preparation of production documentation

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
