Nyhedens School is a 7-9 school with approximately 250 students. We work closely together to create holistic solutions for the students. Our work is based on the student's opportunity for development and learning throughout the day. We have a high percentage of qualified teachers and strive for a good working environment for both students and staff. Nyhedens School works purposefully with knowledge, safety, and well-being.

The Department of Children and Education has about 800 employees. The department's activities span the entire municipality and include preschool, primary school F-9, adapted primary school, after-school care, nutrition and cleaning, mother tongue, and library services.

A Day as a Teacher in English and Swedish at Nyhedens School

The main task of the job is to teach and inspire students based on governing documents.

Learning can occur in many ways, and all students are different and have different needs. You will continuously receive immediate feedback on your efforts in the form of curious questions, raised eyebrows, laughter, and discussions that arise.

Teaching and stimulating students based on municipal and national goals is the main task of the job. Inspiring, motivating, and sparking curiosity in students to seek the knowledge they need is another important part of the job, as is supporting students in their personal development so that they can function socially in society.

Other important tasks in the teaching profession include recognizing development needs and driving the development of the organization towards set goals and contributing to the school's development. There are great opportunities for you to use your knowledge and experience to further develop the organization's working methods together with your colleagues.

Your Competence

Requirements: Teacher education with qualification and certification for grades 7-9.

Desirable competencies/experiences/qualities:

• Experience working with low-arousal responses and pedagogical development work.
• You have empathetic abilities and can understand students' needs and meet them where they are, as well as listen, encourage, stimulate, and challenge them to develop further.
• You have good collaboration skills and an inclusive approach.
• To thrive in the role, you see the team as a resource, and it is natural for you to positively contribute to solving common tasks. We place great importance on your interest in participating in development work and your ability to collaborate.
• You are familiar with the school's governing documents and can apply them in daily work.
• Experience working as a mentor/guide.

Additional Information

The position is a permanent employment at 100% with a start date no later than August 13, 2025.
