Your responsibilities

Students in Västerås have the opportunity to study Finnish for up to 3 hours a week, which we are very proud and happy about. As a mother tongue teacher in Finnish, you belong to a language group and are part of a team with other qualified teachers. The team meets regularly. You will teach students in their mother tongue and provide support for their learning in school with study guidance.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a qualified teacher with the authority to teach in their mother tongue. You have previous experience teaching in your mother tongue and have Finnish as your native language. We also see that you have experience working with children and young people and communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written.

You lead, motivate, and create understanding among students and have a good ability to build relationships. You collaborate well with others but also enjoy independent work. Like us, you are motivated to create high-quality teaching.

We offer

At the Center for Multilingualism, we offer mother tongue support, mother tongue teaching, and study guidance for approximately 4500 children and young people from preschool to high school. We are 145 educators teaching in more than 47 different languages. We work with mother tongue teaching, study guidance as individual support for the student in school, and language support for children in preschool. To provide the best possible development, we use both modern pedagogy and technology. We collaborate with the local community, business, universities, and other municipalities and countries. Our goal is to give children and students courage, self-confidence, the right knowledge, and skills to achieve their dreams.

Before you can be employed, you need to present an approved extract from the police criminal record.

In connection with the interview, you need to verify your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or a certificate of citizenship along with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, the EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.
