Meal Service is our youngest operation within Nyköping Municipality but at the same time one of our most important investments. Meal Service is responsible for the meal operations within schools, preschools, and elderly care. Our vision is to create Sweden's best Meal Service for our diners, and we do this through excellent service as well as good, sustainable, and healthy meals!

Meal Service manages about 70 kitchens and delivers around 10,000 portions daily with the help of our 170 employees, which include chefs and meal assistants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

At Meal Service, you will have the opportunity to be part of the journey towards Sweden's best public meal service! Here, you will prepare meals for the world's most important diners, namely children, youth, and the elderly.

You contribute to serving good, sustainable, and healthy meals every day, following the dietary policy and Meal Service guidelines. You work based on good kitchen economy where high quality and the diner are in focus. At Meal Service, you work during the day and have the opportunity for professional development through internal training in food hygiene, special diets and allergies, environmentally friendly food, and much more.

Your tasks include: staffing various kitchens as needed, cooking, serving meals, daily meetings with diners, daily reporting, handling kitchen machinery, dishwashing, cleaning, preparing salads and snacks. Other tasks that may occur in the kitchen. Planning and purchasing are included. Follow the routines that exist according to the meal program.

You will work both independently and in a team.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying have:

• Chef education or experience that the employer deems equivalent
• Good knowledge of Swedish regarding speaking, writing, and reading comprehension (as you will handle special diets, recipes, etc.)
• Good computer skills

We view positively if you have:

• Experience working in restaurants, large kitchens, or similar
• Driver's license and access to a car
• Experience with meals in public operations
