Technical Investigators in Cybersecurity
Do you have a technical background and a passion for cybersecurity? We are currently seeking two technical investigators who want to take the next step and work with qualified analyses, incident investigations, and security supervision in one of Sweden's most important technology areas.
We work with what everyone takes for granted – the ability to communicate. With us, we ensure that it works now and in the future, for everyone.
The societal need for secure and robust communication has never been greater. To strengthen Sweden's digital resilience, PTS is implementing a strategic initiative where the Department of Secure Communication is divided into two new departments: Preparedness and Security Protection, and Cybersecurity. The new Cybersecurity Department will play a central role in ensuring that Sweden's digital infrastructure is developed and protected to meet societal needs. The department operates at both national and international levels on cybersecurity issues to ensure robust and secure networks and services. We also work to protect our privacy with trusted digital services and ensure that information needed for law enforcement is handled correctly. Through this initiative, PTS strengthens its ability to meet the increasing demands for cybersecurity in society.
The current positions are located in the Cybersecurity and Coordination Unit and the Secure Networks and Services Unit. In both units, you will work at the interface between technology, law, and cybersecurity, in an environment characterized by collaboration, continuous development, and high relevance.
About the Role
As a technical investigator, you will work with development and technology-focused issues directly related to strengthening cybersecurity in society. You will assist with technical expertise and qualified analyses during incidents, review how various organizations conduct their security work through supervision, and drive the development of cybersecurity across several sectors – such as telecommunications, cloud services, ICT services, and space. In your role, you will also be involved in monitoring technology and market developments, providing advice, and working on international issues, including representing PTS in EU collaborations and expert groups. You will have the opportunity to influence, shape, and further develop our work in a rapidly growing area, especially related to new legislation such as NIS2 and the CER Directive.
About the Teams
With us, you will be part of knowledgeable and engaged teams with diverse competencies – from technical specialists to lawyers and strategists – who work together to strengthen Sweden's cybersecurity. We are in an exciting phase of development where much is new, giving you the opportunity to influence and grow with the assignment. Our work is characterized by collaboration, openness, and helpfulness. We have a non-hierarchical culture where we share knowledge, support each other, and have fun along the way.
About You
To thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you are collaborative and comfortable working in a changing environment. You have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and can find new ways forward in assignments and workgroups. Furthermore, you have good analytical skills and can express yourself clearly both verbally and in writing. Your personal qualities are important, and we will place great emphasis on these.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, information technology, or a degree in computer or systems science, or other relevant technical education.
- At least two years of experience working with cybersecurity.
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
It is also meritorious if you have:
- Certification in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CCSK, CCAK).
- Education in cybersecurity.
- Experience of qualified work in the telecommunications sector.
- Experience of qualified work in other parts of the NIS sector digital infrastructure, e.g., cloud services, MSP, DNS, or data centers.
- Experience in supervision, review, or audit-like methods.
Our Offer
We take life seriously. With us, you can have a life both on and off the job. If you feel good, we feel good. Therefore, we offer competitive salaries, flexible working hours, and the possibility of remote work. We also have generous wellness benefits and two wellness hours every week.
In addition, you will receive favorable conditions for lunch, vacation, parental leave, pension, and in case of illness. Here you will work in modern activity-based premises at Hälsingegatan 38. As a government agency, we offer a safe and stable work environment where you can feel secure. We are creating tomorrow's society and must stay at the forefront. With us, you will continuously grow with your tasks.
Good to Know
The position is a permanent employment with an initial probationary period of six months. Placement in Stockholm with a start date as soon as possible by agreement. Your job title will be Case Officer.
To ensure a fair and objective assessment of your qualifications, we ask you not to include a photo, personal identification number, or address in your CV. We have chosen not to request a cover letter as we instead use selection questions.
