Unit Description

32nd Intelligence Battalion is Sweden's only unit of its kind, specializing in the collection, compilation, and analysis of information about the adversary. The Intelligence Battalion is characterized by its ability to gather information using a wide array of sensors and process and analyze the collected information.

The information becomes intelligence that can be used for operational, tactical, and combat technical decisions, but also in time-critical operations such as engaging individual targets by directing artillery and air support. The unit has the capability to move on foot, with terrain vehicles, boats, helicopters, or to be parachuted and can operate over large areas and distances as well as deep within enemy-controlled territory. The battalion includes capabilities for troop reconnaissance with remote reconnaissance soldiers, remotely piloted aircraft systems (UAVs), paratroopers, and units for gathering information in contact with human sources, as well as important staff functions and medical, command, and logistics units. The battalion has extensive experience working with other Swedish and foreign units and has participated in international missions in Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Mali over the past two decades.

Main Responsibilities

This is a job that in many respects differs from what you are used to. Your tasks will be very varied, ranging from qualified medical care to basic soldier skills such as establishing a camp. Here you will occasionally find yourself in situations where you need to work outside your comfort zone with limited resources and under stressful conditions.
