You promote student development and learning by finding strategies to reach each student and strengthen their knowledge and personal development. You provide students with meaningful leisure time, promote social community, and strengthen group relationships.

Together with the work team, you are responsible for creating a safe environment for students, both during school hours and in after-school care. We have 1-2 positions available and are looking for someone interested in developing our after-school care for students in grades 4-6 and offering meaningful break activities. During school hours, you collaborate with the school's other staff to complement the teaching. Teaching in one or more subjects may be included depending on your subject qualifications. You also participate in student-led councils.

We Are Looking For You

To be considered for the position, you must be a licensed primary school teacher in after-school care, or have a degree in leisure pedagogy or a teaching degree for leisure pedagogical activities. We prefer candidates with experience in the profession. If you are also qualified in any of the subjects art, music, home economics, crafts, or physical education, it is a merit.

You have good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can apply these in your daily work in a pedagogical manner. Your teaching is perceived as safe through clear leadership where you have the ability to create a secure environment for all students. To perform the role well, you need to be structured, flexible, and relationship-building.

We apply ongoing selection and therefore encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. The position will be filled on the condition that it is not needed by an already permanently employed staff member.

About the Workplace

Nyvångskolan F-9 belongs to educational area 4 in Lund Municipality and is centrally located in the scenic Dalby. The school has about 900 students, 150 employees, four after-school care departments for students in grades F-3, and an after-school club for students in grades 4-6, as well as adapted primary school grades 4-9. The school buildings are surrounded by green areas with many trees, bushes, and lawns where students have the opportunity to play and engage in sports during their breaks and scheduled movement sessions.

For us at Nyvångskolan, it is important that students feel a desire to learn and have influence over their own learning, both during school hours and in after-school care. Student democracy has long been the school's profile, and we work extensively with student influence through various student-led councils that drive specific issues and development areas. In the councils, students and teachers discuss issues related to work environment, teaching, friendship, and health together. Nyvångskolan's overarching development work focuses on School for Sustainable Development and making the learning environment accessible for all our students, thereby creating the best conditions for participation, learning, and security.

As an employee at Nyvångskolan, you are an integral part of the school's collegial development work. New ideas and perspectives are always welcome, and we offer all educators professional development.

In the child and school administration, we work to create equity and good conditions for all children and students in our preschools, primary schools, and adapted primary schools to reach their goals. Together, we work for a unified and clear governance of preschool and school in a modern and efficient organization, with the goal of enabling world-class education. Our ambitions are high, and we always strive to create good conditions for development and ensure high quality in our operations.

To work with children or students in preschool and school, you need to be able to provide an acceptable extract from the criminal record.
