About the role and your responsibilities

As a primary school teacher in after-school care, you will work pedagogically and socially based on the goals and guidelines of the organization.

You will plan, implement, and follow up on teaching in accordance with applicable governing documents and actively work to develop the after-school care operations. Together with the work team, you are responsible for creating a safe environment for the students, both during school hours and in after-school care.

At Vallkärra School, you will be responsible for:

Actively working to develop and drive the entire after-school care operations in accordance with the current curriculum and evaluate the teaching.
Creating a safe learning environment in after-school care aimed at strengthening students in their knowledge development as well as social development.
Designing teaching based on students' conditions and needs and actively working with student influence.
Teaching student groups during school hours.

The position also includes a lead teacher assignment. You will collaborate with management, colleagues, and another lead teacher who works as a primary school teacher. Together, we develop the operations in everyday work. You will be responsible for development work within the after-school care in the Stångby school area.

Working as a lead teacher primarily means strengthening the pedagogical development work for higher goal fulfillment at your own workplace and, secondarily, the operations in Lund Municipality. The lead teacher has a special responsibility in the systematic quality work and operates based on the school continuing to develop into a learning organization, and the lead teacher works on behalf of the principal.

In the role of lead teacher, you will conduct teaching as well as other tasks related to the teaching assignment for at least 50% of the working hours. As a lead teacher, you have special responsibility for general and subject didactic development with support from research, as well as for the school's/operations' focus areas related to systematic quality work. Furthermore, the lead teacher has a key role in collegial learning.

The content and conditions of the position are specified in dialogue between school leaders and lead teachers at each school/operation based on the above guidelines. This is done before each school year.

We are looking for you

We are looking for a licensed primary school teacher in after-school care, alternatively, you have a degree in leisure pedagogy or a teaching degree for leisure pedagogical activities. You have a strong commitment to the profession and the operations and are ready for a challenge.

To be considered for a lead teacher position, you also need to:

Be able to document at least four years of well-regarded work with teaching within the framework of one or more employments within the school system.
Have demonstrated a particularly good ability to improve students' academic results and a strong interest in developing teaching.
Also be assessed as particularly qualified for teaching and tasks related to teaching by the employer.

We are looking for someone with excellent collaboration skills and the ability to create good relationships with both students and guardians as well as colleagues. You communicate clearly with those you meet. To succeed in the role, you need to have the ability to take your own initiatives, drive issues forward, and achieve good results.

It is an advantage if you have experience working with students with various needs, such as difficulties related to NPF or other challenges.

The position is filled on the condition that it does not need to be claimed by already permanently employed staff.
