Swedish Prison and Probation Service is Growing – Cleaner Wanted

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and adding on, and we are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transports.

The Borås operational area consists of Borås Remand Center with 49 places and Borås Prison with 217 places. The remand center is part of the police station located in central Borås, and the prison is situated in the Västeråsen district of Borås. Construction of a new remand center near Borås Central Station is underway. Approximately 200 people work within the operational area.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role of a cleaner involves cleaning the entrance areas, corridors, administrative offices, activity rooms, staff areas, and other relevant spaces of the prison and remand center.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are attentive, service-oriented, and perform your tasks in a careful, structured, and systematic manner. Your personal qualities are very important, and we are looking for someone who is flexible, has good cooperation skills, but also the ability to work independently and take initiative. You feel a responsibility for the premises and work environment and continuously assess the need for various work efforts.

It is important to us that you share the fundamental values of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service regarding a humane view of people, respect for individuals, and belief in the human capacity and willingness to develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Requirements

• Work experience as a cleaner.
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

Desirable

• Relevant education in cleaning.
• High school diploma.
• Driver's license (B).

We have high demands regarding our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. A security check will precede the hiring decision.
