Job Responsibilities

You will work as a communications assistant, and your main tasks will be to plan, coordinate, and implement activities for student recruitment together with the department's communicator. You will also work on planning, producing, and publishing for our Instagram account. There are good opportunities to contribute your own ideas and suggestions for different communication channels. Other administrative tasks may also be added.

Communication and marketing are important tools for reaching out to our current students as well as for recruiting new students. As a communications assistant, you will be an important link between the department and the students, contributing with the students' perspectives on our communication. You will also be an ambassador for our programs and help spread a positive image of studying with us.

Eligibility

To be employed as a teaching assistant, you must, according to Chapter 5, Section 10 of the Higher Education Ordinance, be admitted to a degree program at the undergraduate or advanced level. Your degree must not have been awarded.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position as a teaching assistant, you should:

  • Be a student in the Bachelor's program in Service Management or Logistics Service Management.

Desirable/meritorious qualifications:

  • Experience with similar administrative tasks.
  • Experience working with events or projects.
  • Experience with social media.
  • Experience as a student ambassador or engagement in other student activities.

To be suitable for the job, you need to be outgoing, service-oriented, and curious to learn. You should also be responsible and have a strong sense of teamwork while being able to take initiative independently. A clear communication ability, with very good knowledge of Swedish, is also important. Good knowledge of English is an advantage.

Other

The position is temporary until May 31, 2026, with a start date from September 1, 2025, or by agreement. You will be employed as a teaching assistant, and the extent of the employment is 10% of full-time according to agreement. The employment must not negatively affect the teaching assistant's studies. Regulations regarding educational employment as a teaching assistant are found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12, not based on the Employment Protection Act. The employment includes vacation, which is planned in consultation within the employment.

The Faculty of Social Sciences at Lund University is one of the country's leading knowledge centers for research and education in social and behavioral sciences. With operations in both Lund and Helsingborg, over 700 employees, and approximately 5,700 full-year students, the faculty is one of Lund University's largest. The Department of Service Management belongs to the Faculty of Social Sciences and has its operations located at Campus Helsingborg. The department, which has existed since 2000, is a successful interdisciplinary research and educational environment.

The department runs two Bachelor's programs in service management. Furthermore, there is a Master's program in service management with five specializations: culture and creativity management, retail, supply chain service management, sustainable service management, and tourism. The language of instruction at the Bachelor's level is Swedish, and at the Master's level, it is English.

The research at the department is based on current societal issues where the service sector is in focus. The research is organized into five interdisciplinary themes: Sustainability, resources and services; management, organization and work; tourism, place and mobility; consumption, marketing and retail; and cultural and creative industries.
