Physical Planner at the Community Building Administration

Job Responsibilities

As a Physical Planner, you will help shape our future Piteå with a focus on ecological, social, and economic sustainability. You will lead and coordinate detailed planning projects and manage planning cases of varying sizes and complexities according to our procedures and within the framework of the Planning and Building Act. You will work with processing and establishing detailed plans, planning programs, and ordering associated investigations. Processing of preliminary decisions and planning decisions, as well as consultations with the Land Surveying Authority, are also part of your responsibilities. Other important tasks include participating in issues related to overall planning, building permits, and design.

You will have an important role in the team where you have an overarching responsibility to coordinate the detailed planning processes. The role also includes guiding, mentoring, and acting as a sounding board for colleagues, as well as driving the detailed planning processes forward. The work involves close contacts with the team but also within the municipality, with the public, businesses, and authorities. You place great emphasis on problem-solving and idea generation that meets customer needs as well as the municipality's goals and guidelines.

Qualifications

In this role, your experience and personal suitability are the most important to us! We are looking for someone who has experience in driving detailed planning processes and who is confident in their role. You have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act and experience in handling GIS-based tools, drawing tools, and illustration programs. If you are an educated planning architect, physical planner, planning engineer, or landscape architect, that is a plus, as well as experience from public operations.

Your commitment and interest in the community building process and a sustainable society are significant. You take great personal responsibility and deliver results, both in terms of quality and productivity. You need to have the ability to structure and plan. Since the role involves a coordination responsibility within the team, good collaboration and communication skills are important. Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, is required. A B driver's license is a must.

Our workplace "Stadsporten" is located in the center of Piteå, directly adjacent to the bus station. Here, work is conducted in an activity-based manner with the opportunity to work remotely.

As a physical planner, you will be part of the Planning Department, which is one of the administration's five departments. The Planning Department works with issues such as detailed plans, building permits, land and traffic issues, urban and rural development, cartography, GIS activities, and early-stage projects.
