About the Position

This autumn, we are looking for a qualified physical education teacher to join us at Långsjöskolan in Rimbo. The position is a full-time temporary contract for the autumn term with the possibility of extension and a permanent position for qualified candidates.

Job Description

As a teaching teacher with us, you will be involved in both teaching with planning and assessment as well as mentorship. You will also be part of the middle school's working team, and part of your job is to work with colleagues to drive the school's development with the child's best interests and learning in focus. At the school, we have a couple of other physical education teachers, and you will be part of the subject group with them.

Working as a teacher is a challenge in itself. We want you, as a candidate, to approach your profession and mission in a curious and exploratory manner. It can be a challenge to find and create learning opportunities for children and students who do not feel motivated to attend school. We are looking for someone who wants to take on the challenge of igniting the passion in students so that they want to learn and understand that knowledge and sports are something to be proud of. You should have the willingness and curiosity to work with young people whose natural focus may not always be on learning and school. We expect you, as a candidate, to have the student's best interests and knowledge as your guiding compass and to have the ability to inspire and focus on the teaching mission, even when students may sometimes have social disturbances outside of school.

About the Workplace

Långsjöskolan is a middle and high school in Rimbo with approximately 450 students. We are a school where respect and openness should characterize our work, and we see it as our primary mission to shape democratic citizens. We offer you work in a professional and dedicated team. Our ambition is for everyone to experience a peaceful study environment and a good working atmosphere in the school - both adults and students. We help, support, and challenge each other.

This academic year, we have focused on the quality of teaching as our main area of focus. Currently, we have many students with high absenteeism and several students who do not feel motivated for schoolwork. We want to change this and are actively working on it.

Teachers and leisure staff are organized into working teams, and the school management consists of one principal and two assistant principals, as well as a pedagogical leadership group made up of principals and team leaders. The school also has a Safety Team and a student council.

The principal's area includes the rural school in Rånäs with about 65 students in grades F-6.

The schools each have their own student health team consisting of a student health coordinator, school nurse, special education teacher, counselor, and school psychologist.

All students have their own PC or iPad, and all classrooms are equipped with projectors/smartboards.

The school has its own kitchen, and meals are prepared on-site.

Employment Type

Full-time, temporary from August to December with a chance of extension.

Start date August 2025
