System Administrator/IT Operations Technician Wanted at Bergslagens Rescue Service

Bergslagens Rescue Service is in the midst of an exciting digital development, and the role of System Administrator/IT Operations Technician is perfect for those with an interest in problem-solving and smart technology. We are looking for someone who is service-oriented, has good communication skills, and works proactively to identify and solve problems. To succeed in this role, you need to be a responsible and structured person with a strong security mindset. Your ability to communicate effectively in both Swedish and English is crucial.
Bergslagens Rescue Service (BRT) is a municipal federation in Eastern Värmland between Degerfors, Filipstad, Hällefors, Karlskoga, Kristinehamn, and Storfors municipalities, with about 200 employees, 8 fire stations, and an Alarm Center. The Alarm Center receives various types of technical alarms from all six member municipalities within the federation.
Overall mission description:
- To ensure that IT systems and infrastructure operate smoothly and efficiently for the entire Bergslagens Rescue Service.
- Work with both hardware and software to support and optimize daily operations.
Examples of tasks:
- Management and maintenance of technical equipment, servers, operating systems, and software applications to ensure they are updated and functioning properly.
- Programming and administration of customer-specific alarm solutions.
- Identification and resolution of technical problems that users or systems may encounter.
- Implementation and monitoring of security measures to ensure that alarm dispatching and other functions have the highest possible security and redundancy.
- Participate in the work on our network infrastructure.
- Contribute to the organization's information security efforts.
- Document configurations, solutions to problems, and changes made in the system.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Documented experience as a system administrator and/or IT Operations Technician.
- Post-secondary education in IT or computer science or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Experience working with Windows systems and services.
- Experience in IT security, including firewall configuration and security policies.
- Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Driver's license B

About the employment:
Full-time/permanent position
Probationary employment will apply
This position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the current regulations for security protection.
Working hours:
Daytime 38.75 hours per week. We apply flexible working hours and offer exercise hours during paid working time.
Start date: by agreement.
Salary: Individual salary setting applies.
