Administrator at the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters
The Swedish Armed Forces is in an expansion phase and on a significant growth journey. Here you have the opportunity to work in a committed and close-knit team where you can develop while contributing to the organization's development journey. Does this sound like something for you? Read on!
About the Unit
The Strategy Unit at the Armed Forces Headquarters leads the development of materials for the Chief of Defence's military strategic leadership. The Strategy Unit's department for policy and operations planning leads the preparation of the operations plan and strategic planning directives, Armed Forces orders, and the military strategic situation picture, but also has operational responsibility for the direction of the Armed Forces' international relations. The unit consists of approximately 170 employees, with the Policy and Operations Planning department holding about 40 positions organized into three sections: Planning Section, International Cooperation Section, and the Military Strategic Situation Picture Section (MSLB). The section is looking for a civilian administrator who will primarily work with matters related to the Armed Forces' military strategic situation picture.
Main Responsibilities
The role of an administrator at the Armed Forces Headquarters, based at MSLB, involves varied tasks that are carried out both individually and in teams. Since the situation picture can have different target groups and purposes, there are demands for a flexible working method and the ability to plan and coordinate work to meet current needs. Examples of tasks include:
- development of the situation picture
- presentation of situation updates
- report writing
- information management
- collaboration with other commands/units/staff
- administrative tasks
REQUIREMENTS

Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is flexible, driven, and has a good ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. This requires you to be methodical and organized in your work approach. You are proactive and thrive in a varied work environment where a calm pace can quickly change to the opposite. Most of the work is done together with colleagues, but it is important that you take responsibility for your part of the work and can also work independently. To succeed in the position, you should have previous experience with tasks related to situation picture and/or analysis, be a skilled writer, and have experience giving concise oral presentations tailored to different audiences. Since information processing and materials for the situation picture are obtained or shared from various parts of the Armed Forces, the role at MSLB requires very good collaboration skills. This also places high demands on personal integrity and a strong security awareness. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
