We at the Forensic Psychiatric Clinic in Säter are responsible for highly specialized care at the county, regional, and national levels. We care for patients according to the law on forensic psychiatric care, as well as patients who become ill during ongoing criminal care or during detention. In total, we have 78 care places divided into seven departments staffed by experienced nurses and caregivers.

Before your summer job, you will be offered to participate in the clinic's joint introduction days on June 16-17. Other introductions will take place in the department where you will be placed.

Job Responsibilities

We work to offer patients skills that promote recovery. There is a clear structure for how care and treatment should be provided to patients at the clinic, with a focus on care and treatment.

We work closely with patients and therefore need to be able to receive and manage various emotional expressions such as anxiety, worry, joy, and anger. An important part of the work is to see the person behind the crime, where you observe and motivate/support the patient to have a functioning everyday life.

We should be good role models and be able to provide patients with various skills that lead to a transition from the clinic to housing and other interventions through the municipality and outpatient care.

Examples of job responsibilities:

• Support patients with daily activities such as meals, hygiene, and recreation.
• Observe and report changes in patients' well-being and behavior.
• Participate in planning and implementing activities to promote patients' well-being.
• Work to create a safe and secure environment for both patients and staff.
• Collaborate with other healthcare staff and follow applicable routines and guidelines.
• Documentation of care interventions.
• Daily safety checks.

Additional Information

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.

Desirable:

• Education as a caregiver/nursing assistant.
• Experience working in healthcare or psychiatry.
• Driver's license

Personal Characteristics:

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in working in psychiatry and helping people in difficult situations. You are interested in working with forensic psychiatric care and thrive in an environment where collaboration and engagement are important.
