Your Role
As a production engineer, you will be a key person in our second-line support organization. You will work with studies, investigations, as well as maintenance and further development of maintenance concepts for operational underwater sensor systems. Your experience from operational management and handling of sensor systems will be an important support for our development organization.
The role includes business responsibility and project leadership responsibility, which means you will manage relationships with both customers and subcontractors. You will also play a central role in supporting our first-line maintenance organization. The work takes place both on-site with customers and in our own facilities in Karlskrona, Linköping, and Motala.
Your main tasks include:
- Maintaining technical documentation for operational underwater sensor systems
- Conducting technical analyses and investigations, including handling error reports and studies
- Contributing experiences from operational management and handling of sensor systems to support the development unit
- Development and further development of maintenance concepts
- Quality assurance of technical publications and training materials
- Assisting in troubleshooting systems and subsystems, both in operational and workshop environments
- Assisting product management with the development and further development of system lifecycle plans
- Planning and conducting technical training
- Acting as case leader for smaller assignments, which means responsibility for calculations, writing quotes, implementation, and delivery
Your Profile

You have a strong interest in understanding the operational availability, function, and performance of systems, as well as how these factors interact with the operational requirements that our customers demand.
You value creating and maintaining good customer relationships based on mutual trust and business acumen. You also ensure to develop the team's collective ability and positively contribute to your colleagues' personal development.
To fit the role, you should have:
- At least 3 years of experience in the development or maintenance of complex technical systems
- A strong interest in technology and a desire to understand the technical function and performance of systems
- Good ability to read and interpret technical information
- Ability to adapt and convey technical information to different target groups
- Strong skills in building long-term relationships and collaborating with others
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and PDM systems
- Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
It is advantageous if you have:
- Post-secondary education in electronics, preferably with a focus on sensor-related areas such as magnetics, pressure, and electric field theory
- Experience in the Armed Forces, especially in a maritime environment
- Experience in the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV)
- Experience in the development of technical systems, especially in electronics, software, mechanics, ILS, and systems safety
- Experience with sensor systems, preferably underwater
- Experience in training others in handling complex technical systems
- Practical experience in maintaining technical systems (electronics, software, and mechanics)
- Good leadership skills and experience in leading smaller groups or projects
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
