We are looking for an innovation leader focused on Cultural Creative Industries and Social Sustainability.

A sustainable societal transformation in Norrbotten encompasses, alongside the new industrial transformation, social sustainability as well. The Culture Unit of Region Norrbotten is therefore establishing a position focused on social sustainability with an emphasis on culture and (CCI) cultural and creative industries as driving forces for the region's development. The position involves innovation leadership to initiate and lead processes, activities, and projects within the focus area and aims to strengthen and complement ongoing initiatives from a collaboration perspective. The Culture Unit has overall responsibility within the cultural field. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the region's institutions, municipalities, associations, organizations, and professional cultural creators, as well as with national authorities and organizations and collaborations within certain international networks. The Cultural Council's cultural collaboration model, Culture Plan for Norrbotten 2023–2026, Regional Development Strategy Norrbotten 2030, and parts of the region's Smart Specialization Strategy form the basis for the unit's work.

We are looking for

We are looking for someone with a relevant academic degree focused on culture and CCI. You should have analytical, strategic, and operational leadership skills within culture and CCI, as well as relevant and current experience in this field. We want you to have a good understanding of the conditions and requirements within culture and CCI from a local, regional, national, and international perspective. You should have experience and ability to document and communicate work and results, as well as a good ability to communicate in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. Furthermore, we want you to have documented experience of innovative change work. It is an advantage if you have good networking contacts with relevant authorities and organizations at the local, regional, and national level, a good understanding of Norrbotten's business and cultural life, and experience in applying for and leading international EU projects.

This is what you will work with

Your assignment includes initiating, driving, and developing the region towards a more socially sustainable society with a focus on culture and CCI.

You will be responsible for overarching processes, documentation, follow-ups, and evaluations. You will work with environmental monitoring, participate in and prepare meetings at the local, regional, national, and international levels to develop operations and working methods. You will also support the unit's own operations and may sometimes be a presenter in political meetings and preparations, as well as responsible for consultation responses and documentation for the committee. Together with the regional cultural operations, you will work to realize the intentions of the culture plan as part of the overall regional development mission. You will report directly to the Culture Manager.

The Culture Unit, together with the unit for business and community planning, is part of the regional development department whose mission is to lead and coordinate various actors and activities for the region's development. The Culture Unit includes the regional institutions Norrbotten Music, Norrbotten Museum, Region Library Norrbotten, as well as promotion activities and resource centers in dance, handicrafts, design, literature, and art. We base our work on cultural policy goals: Culture should be a dynamic, challenging, and independent force with freedom of expression as its foundation, the goal is that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in cultural life and that creativity, diversity, and artistic quality should characterize societal development. A socially sustainable society is an equal society where people live a good life with good health without unjust differences. A society where people's equal value is at the center. A vibrant cultural life enhances quality of life, increases security and well-being, and is an important part of a socially sustainable society.

Information about the position

The position is a permanent full-time employment during daytime hours. 

Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreements.
