Description

The Citizen Administration consists of seven sections, one of which is Preventive Measures, where 17 employees work.

The section consists of group leaders, leisure leaders, counselors at youth centers, mediators, and TSI coordinators (Early and Coordinated Measures).

Job Responsibilities

The role of the field secretary is to work preventively and outreach as well as relationship-building to improve the upbringing conditions for young people in Värnamo Municipality. The goal is to reduce the number of young people affected by social issues, increased mental health problems, and to prevent and promote not ending up or residing in various risk environments. The field operations also have the task of identifying trends and tendencies regarding the situation of young people throughout Värnamo Municipality.

The main target group for the operations is young people aged 12–18 years.

The position involves being present in environments where young people are, such as schools and during their leisure time, to get to know as many young people as possible in a natural way. This is to gain an understanding of how children and young people are doing in general and to find those who may need help and support. This means that working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends.

Field secretaries are expected to be a positive force among children and young people. You are expected to communicate and act on-site, as well as conduct structured conversations both individually and in groups. In your work, you will also have contact with guardians in various contexts. You will also be part of the municipality's TSI work (early and coordinated measures).

Part of the field secretary's job involves collaboration with various parts of the municipality's operations, community life, and different types of authorities.

The operations are based at the Safety Center in Värnamo.

Qualifications

You need to have a degree in social work or education at the university level that the employer assesses as equivalent. It is advantageous if you have experience in similar tasks.

You have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

A driver's license is required.

In Värnamo Municipality, all permanent positions are advertised as full-time. If you prefer part-time and the operations can accommodate a lower employment rate, that is of course an option.
