Primary care in Region Jämtland Härjedalen is organizationally part of the Division of Close Care, together with Ambulance, Dental Care, Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Primary care is organized into 4 local care areas, and since January 2022, primary care and ambulance services have been integrated under good and close care. Each local care area is an economic unit led by a manager. Primary care is also responsible for the region's medical advice, youth clinics, and the local care department Näva, all of which are grant-funded.

We are currently looking for a specialist in general medicine as our colleague will be on leave. Here you will have the opportunity to make a difference for our patients and provide them with a safe and professional first contact with our health center. Your role is important and significant.

Lits Health Center is located about 25 minutes from Östersund by car, and there are good bus connections. With us, you will work alongside general practitioners, residents, district nurses, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, PSE, midwives, BVC nurses, rehabilitation coordinators, and more. We have approximately 7400 registered patients.

You will work daytime in a positive environment at a well-functioning and well-staffed health center. You will become part of a wonderful and energetic team, and here you will have the opportunity to grow and meet patients with various needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Working with us as a specialist in general medicine involves regular outpatient work, home visits, and, if necessary, digital visits. There is also the possibility of side assignments within SÄBO, BVC, MVC, and supervision of training doctors.

You have the opportunity to adapt your daily schedule according to your own preferences regarding administrative time, among other things. We have a doctor’s meeting for one hour per week, regular continuing education in the form of training days five days a year. These days contribute to creating a strong community in general medicine in the region. Additionally, you will be offered a place in the FQ group for further education and reflection in a group five days a year. Occasional on-call shifts are included in the job, and we work for an even distribution of shifts in the area.

The Primary Care area has the status of a university hospital unit, and teaching, supervision, and education of medical students at Umeå University are part of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a specialist in general medicine. Experience working as a specialist physician in general medicine is meritorious, but we are also looking for those who will graduate soon. You are welcome to have experience from primary care, and independent research and supervision are meritorious but not a formal requirement for the position.

We place great importance on personal suitability, especially the ability to collaborate, as collaboration is essential for us. We have a strong collaboration with Lugnvik Health Center, within the physician group in the Östersund local care area, and all professions at our health center. You should be self-driven, and if you are newly graduated, you should ask questions and be curious. It is crucial that you see our patients and bring continuous improvements that develop our health center and Primary Care.

A valid driver's license is a requirement.

OTHER

Primary care is a healthcare unit within the region's health and medical care administration, where higher education for medical degrees and research is conducted. This means that all applicants must be assessed by the Research and Development manager before potential employment. Therefore, the application must include the following accompanying documents:

• Certificate of medical degree from the institution(s) where the physician completed their basic education. This also applies to physicians educated in other EU countries and outside the EU.
• License from the National Board of Health and Welfare
• Specialist competence certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare
• Certificate/documentation of teaching experience and any other pedagogical merits.
• If applicable, a certificate of academic degree, such as Doctor of Medicine or Docent, as well as the date of disputation and title of the dissertation.
• Documented supervisor training
• If applicable, a complete and updated publication list.
• Any additional documented merits regarding clinical knowledge/experience, clinical development work, leadership experience, and anything else the applicant wishes to highlight as meritorious for the sought position.
