The Planning and Building Unit is part of the municipality's Community Building Administration and is looking for a GIS engineer to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

As a GIS engineer, you are an important part of the municipality's digital development. In the role of GIS engineer with us, you will be part of our operations that serve the residents of the municipality and other departments within the municipality. You will plan your work according to the needs of the operations.

You will work both independently and together with other operations and GIS engineers within the framework of collaboration.

Sotenäs municipality is part of a GIS collaboration with the municipalities of Strömstad, Tanum, Munkedal, and Lysekil. 20% of your time will be spent in GIS collaboration on projects that benefit all five member municipalities. In the GIS collaboration, you will be part of a group of 7 people who together perform updates and maintenance in the municipalities' mapping systems. We are facing exciting changes in the work towards a digitized community building process and an expansive digital development.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in GIS or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have excellent computer skills, experience in the GIS field, and knowledge of various GIS software.

It is advantageous to have knowledge and experience in:

• My Carta platform
• ESRI platform
• FME Form and Flow
• Database management
• Led GIS projects and implemented GIS solutions

We also appreciate if you have worked with visualization and development of geodata. Additionally, experience in municipal operations is advantageous.
