Kriminalvården is Growing – Cook for Sagsjön Prison

Kriminalvården is expanding – we are building new, renovating, and adding on, and we are now looking for more employees. Our main goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. Sagsjön Prison is located in Lindome, just south of Gothenburg, and is a women’s prison divided into security classes two and three. The prison has a total of 77 places, 44 places in security class 2, of which 24 are double-occupied, and 33 places in security class 3, where 31 of the places are double-occupied.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a cook in the Gothenburg South area, you will prepare meals primarily for the clients in the prisons and detention center, but also to some extent for the staff. We are now looking for staff with primary placement at Sagsjön Prison, but collaboration within the area occurs, so you need to be prepared to work at the Högsbo prison and detention center as needed.

The job responsibilities include those typical of a large kitchen, such as planning, purchasing, and preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The responsibilities also include cleaning the kitchen facilities, dishwashing, and self-control in accordance with current legislation.

Preparation of special diets is included. In the role of cook, you will also mentor clients who work in the kitchen. The work is done in collaboration with staff in other functions. Applications for temporary positions are also welcome.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and self-aware. You remain calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks.

Requirements

• Restaurant or large-scale kitchen education at the high school level or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by Kriminalvården
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish

Meritorious

• Experience working in large kitchens
• Experience working with self-controls
• Experience working with special diets
• Driving license B

OTHER

We have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. A security check will precede the decision on employment. Certain positions are placed in security class, and a security assessment with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. For positions with a higher security class, you need to be a Swedish citizen, but you may have a foreign background.
