Licensed Occupational Therapist Wanted in Skellefteå Municipality

We are now looking for a licensed occupational therapist for our rehabilitation unit who wants to be part of a team working with close care for a health-promoting and sustainable everyday life.

As an occupational therapist, we offer you an independent job with introduction and mentorship based on your previous experience. You will have support and exchange with colleagues in the same profession and the rest of the team, as well as the privilege of following the patient over a longer period. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes physiotherapists, nurses, nursing assistants, and rehabilitation nursing assistants.

The health and medical care unit works with patients aged 18 and older who need health and medical care at the primary care level in their homes, both in special and ordinary housing. The goal is to provide health and medical care that promotes health, independence, and the experience of a meaningful life. An important part of the work is to provide support to individuals so they can manage on their own and stay at home as long as possible. We achieve this through coordinated care and a preventive and rehabilitative approach.

Our rehabilitation team consists of about 30 occupational therapists and about 20 physiotherapists, distributed among three managers. As an occupational therapist with us, you will be based in a location in central Skellefteå. We cover the entire Skellefteå municipality and use service vehicles for home visits to patients. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an occupational therapist, you work with the person's ability to perform or participate in meaningful activities, with the goal of achieving a functioning everyday life despite their functional variation. You assess factors in the environment, the person, and the activity. You are part of a multidisciplinary team that collaborates with and around the patient. Assessments are made both independently and in dialogue with the team.

Actions are planned together with the patient and those around them. This may include advice on managing their daily life, training to perform tasks that are difficult in a usual way, or by adapting how things are done, prescribing aids, or making changes to the home environment.

You are involved in the development of the profession and the organization. Guiding and supporting other professional groups to grow in their roles is part of the assignment. The work is mobile and dynamic, with many different contacts with patients and relatives, colleagues, and others inside and outside the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist; previous experience as an occupational therapist is an advantage. As a person, you are service-oriented, empathetic, and independent. You work in a structured manner and plan your work effectively and solution-oriented, while being able to adapt to changing circumstances. You are attentive and accommodating in your interactions, easily establish new contacts, and are skilled at collaborating with others. A valid driver's license (B) is required to perform the duties. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Skellefteå Municipality is a Finnish and Sámi administrative municipality, so it is advantageous if you speak Finnish or Sámi. If you also know sign language, we see it as an asset in our operations.
